Running your own fruit to suit franchise

fruit to suit franchises are now available. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to make a difference to the health of your local children, support your local schools, work hours to suit the demands of your family whilst earning money.
The company was franchised in January 2008 and to date we have eight franchisees. They all have been given the opportunity to work around the demands of their families. They are very passionate about their work as they are selling products and services which they believe in one hundred percent.
The franchises are aimed at parents working from home with young children. The hours are flexible and working with schools means that there is very little or no work (if required) in the school holidays.
You can work part time during the school term or expand your franchise further to full time supplying offices, gyms and clubs.
We have three franchises to choose from:
  1. Sales
You will be working alongside your Enterprise Manager whose role it is to train you and market your business. They recruit the schools and train the children to run the tuck shops independently. Your role will be to receive orders from the school children by email or telephone and deliver. Your snacks are purchased through the fruit to suit online shop. 
  1. Enterprise
Your role will be to deliver the Business & Enterprise programs in schools and work alongside the sales franchisees who will supply your schools
  1. Complete Franchise
You can also operate the Sales franchise and Enterprise franchise together.
The Franchise Agreement
This is a legal contract between fruitto suit and yourself. You are granted your own exclusive territory to trade, in accordance with the manual, fruitto suit healthy snacks and deliver the Business & Enterprise Program.
Franchisees
We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic franchisees with a passion for healthy eating and working with children. We select only the best franchisees to ensure that fruitto suit’s high quality of products and services continue.
No specific experience is required but you must have:
  • a warm and friendly personality
  • confidence, energy and enthusiasm
  • a passion for healthy eating
  • a desire to succeed
and:
  • enjoy working with children and their parents or carers
  • be self motivated, hardworking and determined
fruit to suit’s Package
The initial franchise fee includes everything you would need to set up and run your fruit to suit franchise:
·         Full training (Wirral Based)
·         Training manual with step by step instructions, advice and tips from other franchisees
·         Promotional literature and samples
·         Personal stationery including 100 Business Cards, 100 With Comps Slips and 100 Letterheads
·         fruitto suit T shirt
·         Book keeping system
·         Filing system
·         Use of franchisee section of website 
·         Continued advice and support
·         £500 starting stock
Your Training
Your training will consist of:
·         one full day, Wirral Based, by the Managing Director (Terrie Johnson)
·          half day book keeping training either by telephone/online or Wirral based, depending on your location.
·         a comprehensive Training Manual complete with guidance on how to run all aspects of the business.
Ongoing support continues from your Enterprise Franchisee, the Managing Director and through the website, which contains information, advice, tips, healthy recipes and new products.
The Franchise Costs
1.    Sales Franchise £2500
2.    Enterprise Franchise £3000
3.    Complete Franchise £3000
All franchisees pay a management fee of 4% of their sales.
All franchisees must use the fruit to suit book keeping system (based on Kashflow) at a cost of £10 a month. It is a fantastic and very simple book keeping system which is an asset to any business.
Potential Earnings
How long is a piece of string??? Your potential earnings are dependent on many variables:
·         How many hours you are prepared to work
·         How driven and motivated you are.
·         How well you market your business.
·         What type of area you live in. If you live in a city, you will probably be surrounded by large schools you can supply. If you live in the countryside (lucky you!), you will have to travel further to deliver to schools.
·         How affluent your area is i.e. the spending power of the children. Surprisingly this isn’t as obvious as it may seem at first!
·         Whether or not you just want to work term time. Our adult Snack Bags have a greater profit margin than our Mini Snack Bags so your profits will increase if you are prepared to deliver to offices, gyms, clubs etc.
To give you a very approximate idea for profits,for 10 semi rural schools per week:
Sales (snacks only) £106 / Time required 6 hours
Complete (snacks and business and enterprise) £210 / Time required 12 hours
This is pure profit; all expenses including travel, working from home and management fee have been taken into account.
You can multiply up the number of schools to suit the number of hours you wish to work.
The Stages to setting up your own fruit to suit Franchise
Stage 1
You have already started on your path to running your own franchise by reading this leaflet. fruit to suit will guide you through every stage from setting up your franchise to running it successfully.
Stage 2
Should you decide to proceed, we can arrange to meet when you can ask questions and decide whether the franchise is suitable for you. I will, at this stage, ask you to sign a confidentiality agreement. We can then discuss the following stages in more detail and a suitable date to start trading.
Stage 3
Should you wish to proceed, we can enter into a franchise agreement to cover the area where you wish to trade. You will be given your franchise pack and book your training dates.
Stage 4
You will be fully trained in every aspect of running your fruit to suit franchise.
Stage 5
You can start trading on your chosen date. You will continue to receive full support from the fruit to suit team. It is very important to the company and our team that you succeed.

fruit to suit has given me the opportunity to have a very good work life balance. I am home in the school holidays and if my children are poorly and off school, it doesn’t matter, I am not frantically looking for a baby sitter!!  It is always a huge step going self employed when you are used to having a salary paid in every month by someone else but no more do I dread waking up on a Monday morning thinking ‘Oh no, do I really have to go to work today?’
When I joined fruit to suit I had no idea how quickly my business would grow. I had to employ someone to bag all the dried fruit until the company this year went onto a factory line production to cope with the demand.
fruit to suit is unique in lots of ways as we cover so many important areas of a child’s education and eating habits. The Business and Enterprise program we offer schools re enforces the national curriculum and gives the children vital business skills for life. What makes it all worthwhile is the children who we train; they are so enthusiastic and passionate about what fruit to suit represents. It is so rewarding and very worthwhile.
The children love our healthy snacks and it still amazes me how many mini snack bags get sold each and every day in the schools; helping the children to stay healthier.
From a selling point of view, fruit to suit is not a hard sell. I have never had rejection from any of the child based organisations I have been to, only positive outcomes.
Due to the demand for fruit to suit’s snacks and Business and Enterprise programs this year, I am involved solely in training the children. fruit to suit has three other mums in my area who supply the healthy snacks to the schools. They, too, are benefiting from the same financial independence as me and loving what they do, it’s great!!! 
Terrie Johnson, the Director of fruit to suit, is a huge support and always looking after us all. She, too, is very passionate about what we all do and keeps us going as one big happy team.
